Buda Castle

A wonderful art nouveau gate

Equally wonderful fountain

Changing of the guard at the Office of the President was cool, love all the matching shades

Budapest is divided in two by the Danube River, and is actually two cities, Buda and Pest.  Buda is dominated by high cliffs along the Danube, and is where Buda Castle is located. Here is where in the 1300's the early settlers located, for defensive reasons. It was heavily damaged during WW II, and has been beautifully restored.  It's now where the office of the president, museums and a charming district of narrow cobblestone streets full of cafes and shops are located.
